Took a day to make plans for Luna's frame/tongue repair. We were encouraged by a post on "Dairy of a 1956 Caravanner" blog that described how his frame repair was not conventional, not pretty, but strong and would get the job done at a cost that is not astronomical. That's our philosophy. Dobby doesn't really want me to share our outside-the-box ideas for our frame repair - but I am confident that it will be strong, safe and get Luna where we want to bring her. Ellie helped us out as we studied and made sketches for the frame/tongue repair. Here are some photos:
Ellie looks over the sketches.
She makes sure Gramp knows where the trouble spots are.
Went on a field trip to Tractor Supply to look at new hitches and jack stands.
Dobby traced the hitch so we could make sure angle was right.
